India has become the
most populous country in the world surpassing China and it is generally argued
that India has richer demographic dividend
in comparison to the richer South East Asia and Western Europe where
population is fast declining. However in this discussion demography is
discussed as a separate entity whereas the fact is that quality of population as a resource is more important
than its quantity and this quality depends
on the health and education of population. An unskilled or low
skilled large mass of people is not as productive as a small but skilled and healthy mass
of people. Level of skill depends upon the adoption and use of modern
technology but some put forth arguments in favour of bigger population without
taking skill and technology into account Main contents of such arguments include
following .

Oversimplification of
demography: While technology and knowledge are essential, completely
dismissing the importance of demography could be an oversimplification.
Population size and demographic shifts can still play a significant role in
resource availability, economic potential, and geopolitical dynamics.

Unequal access and
distribution of AI: The statement assumes equitable access to and
development of AI technologies across all nations. However, the reality is
likely to be more nuanced, with potential disparities in AI capabilities

However these objections can easily be met by considering the role of education, skill and technology.
The

holding greater sway than mere population size. Smaller nations like Japan,
