THINK GLOBAL , THINK LOCAL

THINK GLOBAL , THINK LOCAL

We often forget the micro aspects of our lives by constantly thinking at a macro level. People get so caught up in the larger picture that they neglect the smaller, everyday experiences. A balance is crucial. Live life locally. Exercise your global ideologies when the opportunity arises, but constant global thinking can be detrimental.

It's true that living globally is important, but it's not the whole story. People generally embrace local traditions while aspiring to greater ones. Both are intertwined. However, our local lives are not immune to global influences, and vice versa.

Our daily lives are shaped by the larger social structure of which we are parts. Neither the individual units nor the larger structure are self-sustaining.

Therefore, understanding both local and global contexts is equally important.

Consider the following example:

Historically, Indian families have been strongly patriarchal, with women intellectually and financially dependent on men. However, when a global vision for drastic social change through modern economy and education became dominant, without any attempt to alter local value systems, patriarchy began to loosen its grip. Despite strong misogynistic values, women started gaining a foothold.
